She specifically seeks to change the training standards in OBGYN residency programs to include sexual health and genito-pelvic pain concerns so that all OBGYN providers are able to care for these patients. She looks forward to working with women as they navigate through the many joys and challenges of women’s health.
In her free time, Dr. Mikkilineni loves to travel, do arts and crafts with her kids, hike very tall mountains, attempt desserts that are way out of her league, and get out there to lobby and fight for basic human decency and respect in this country.

Dr. Jandra Mueller earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Pacific University in 2012 and her Master’s degree in Integrative Health and Nutrition from Maryland University of Integrative Health in 2020. Dr. Mueller applies a comprehensive, holistic approach to treating pelvic health conditions throughout all phases of life, with a special interest in pelvic pain and endometriosis. Jandra has also played a pivotal role in shaping educational initiatives, speaking at international conferences to educate healthcare professionals on the critical importance of pelvic health. She is actively involved with the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH) on the Scientific Committee and as the current Education Committee Chair. Her passion for pelvic health has expanded into her hobbies, most recently in crocheting pelvic health medical models. In her spare time she also loves reading mindless romance or fantasy novels and painting by numbers!
Jandra unwinds through crocheting, bringing to life everything from educational pelvic health models to playful creations like Goku, Gritty, and Ghost Spider. When she’s not stitching, she’s making the most of her (very limited!) free time with her stepdaughter—swimming, dancing around the house, playing board games, and embracing the chaos of house gymnastics.

Obstetrician-Gynecologist | Midlife Women’s Health Specialist | Sexual Medicine & Pelvic Pain Expert
Fellow, International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health
Dr. Roberta Renzelli-Cain is a dedicated physician, educator, and advocate with a career spanning clinical care, research, education, and policy reform in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Female Sexual Medicine, Menopause, and Pelvic Pain Disorders. A Fellow of the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH), she serves on its Board of Directors and chairs the Fellowship Committee. She has also been deeply involved in ISSWSH’s Membership Outreach efforts, fostering engagement, mentorship, and professional development—particularly in regions where access to specialized women’s healthcare is limited. Additionally, she has contributed to ISSWSH’s Special Interest Group on Deep Dyspareunia and the Sexual Health Core Curriculum Development Committees.
As a researcher, Dr. Renzelli-Cain has led Phase 2 and Phase 3 FDA trials focused on improving treatments for endometriosis-related pelvic pain, PCOS-related androgen excess, and Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause. Her work also explores the effects of hormonal therapy on cardiac perfusion using Magnetic Resonance Imaging, contributing to a deeper understanding of women’s cardiac health.
With 27 years of experience in teaching and mentorship, she has supported the growth of medical students, residents, and fellows in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Sexual Medicine. She has also helped train advanced trainees across allied health fields, including physical and occupational therapy, psychology, social services, nursing, advanced practice providers, and PhD candidates, recognizing the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to patient care.
Committed to expanding access to women’s sexual healthcare, Dr. Renzelli-Cain has worked through direct patient care, research, education, and advocacy to improve healthcare delivery and reduce barriers to care, particularly for underserved communities.
Her commitment to service led to appointments on the West Virginia Women’s Commission and as Medical Director of the State of West Virginia’s Center of Excellence in Women’s Health and Research—one of the original 20 Centers of Excellence funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. During her tenure, she worked to shape healthcare policy and expand services, with a particular focus on improving care for women in Appalachia. By addressing systemic barriers, she has helped bridge healthcare disparities and ensure that women in rural and economically disadvantaged areas receive the care they need.
Dr. Renzelli-Cain has advanced Women’s Sexual and Reproductive Health through research, advocacy, and education. She continues to collaborate with healthcare professionals, policymakers, and community leaders to create meaningful, lasting improvements in women’s health.
Since much of her professional life involves electronic communication, Roberta actively seeks to avoid screens during her free time. She has held a deep passion for the arts since childhood and has worked to instill these values in her children. She regularly enjoys attending the theatre and ballet, as well as listening to various genres of music, ranging from opera and classical to modern jazz and bluegrass.

Caitlin W. is a patient advocate committed to bridging the gap between patients and providers. Caitlin W. is a researcher and educator by day, with a PhD in microbiology. She chose to dive into patient advocacy when she experienced the gaps in public knowledge of sexual medicine. Caitlin was diagnosed with neuroproliferative vestibulodynia in 2018 after years of chronic pain, searching for answers, and being told it was “all in her head.” Through a stroke of luck, she found out that sexual medicine was a field of medicine and there were specialists trained to help her. After finally getting the answers she was searching for, Caitlin began a long, and ongoing, journey of treatment and healing.
Frustrated by the barriers to finding up-to-date, evidence-based information, Caitlin decided to work on building a bridge between sexual medicine specialists and ill-informed patients. In 2019, she launched her website www.sexmedadvocate.com with the goal of teaching patients about the cutting-edge research in the field of sexual medicine and latest standards-of-care. Caitlin recognizes that researchers’ and clinicians’ knowledge is inaccessible to most patients due to journal paywalls and scientific jargon. She is using her science background to be a bridge between patients and providers by sharing scientific research in a format that is accessible to everyone.
Caitlin joined ISSWSH as a patient advocate member in 2019. She has presented research projects at multiple ISSWSH annual meetings that aim to make patient’s voices heard and connect more patients with knowledgeable providers. She serves on ISSWSH committees on behalf of patients to ensure that ISSWSH continues their commitment to effectively meeting patients’ needs. She is currently chair of the Public Outreach Committee that runs Prosayla.
In her free time, Caitlin spends time with her family, especially her son. She has recently taken up running and wants to try a 50k ultramarathon this year.

Dr. Megan L. Falsetta, PhD is an Associate Professor at the University of Rochester with a joint appointment in OB/GYN and Pharmacology and Physiology. She serves as the Associate Director for OB/GYN Research Labs. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at Alfred University, then moved onto graduate school at the University of Iowa. She completed her PhD in Microbiology and Immunology in 2009, focusing on how Neisseria gonorrhoeae forms biofilms to evade the immune response in women, which may contribute to asymptomatic infection. She then studied oral biofilms and early childhood caries as a post-doc at the University of Rochester. She returned to studying women’s health during a second post-doc, which ultimately led to her appointment as OB/GYN faculty. Her ongoing research aims to discover and understand mechanisms of vulvar disease and genitopelvic pain, specifically vulvodynia, lichens sclerosis, and endometriosis. Very little is known of the causes and mechanisms of genitopelvic disease. Dr. Falsetta contends that understanding these mechanisms is the key to improving patient care through the development of mechanism-based therapeutics, new diagnostics, and greater visibility of vulvar disease.
Dr. Falsetta is usually short on free time, but she loves to read, journal, and spend time with her family. They also enjoy going to concerts, live theater, and watching movies.
