Your application will be reviewed by the ISSWSH Membership Committee on the following schedule:
- For applications received from the first (1st) to the fifteenth (15th) of the month, the committee will begin review on the sixteenth (16th) of the month (if the 16th falls on a weekend, review will begin on the next business day).
- For applications received from the sixteenth (16th) to the end of the month, the committee will begin review on the first (1st) of the following month (if the 1st falls on a weekend, review will begin on the next business day).
The Membership Committee typically reviews applications within one week. Once an application is approved by the Membership Committee, it is forwarded to the Board of Directors for final review and approval.
A notification will be sent to all applicants upon approval of membership.
In some cases the Membership Committee may need additional information from the applicant before rendering a decision. In this case you will be notified and asked to provide this prior to a decision on your application.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT FROM THE TIME YOU SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION TO THE TIME YOU RECEIVE A DECISION CAN TAKE UP TO 4-6 WEEKS.
IT CAN TAKE EVEN LONGER IF:
- The ISSWSH Office requests further information from you, and depending on how quickly you respond to the request
- The ISSWSH Membership Committee flags your application, requiring further review from the Membership Chairperson or Executive Committee
If you have any questions regarding your application, please contact the ISSWSH office directly. Reaching out to Board Members may inadvertently delay a response, as all membership inquiries are best handled through the administrative office.
In some cases, an applicant may be denied membership if they are found to be in violation of the ISSWSH bylaws. During the review process if the Membership Committee has concerns that an applicant is in violation of the ISSWSH bylaws the applicant will be notified and offered the opportunity to provide a response to the concerns. This will result in a delay in the review process.
