ISSWSH Lifetime Achievement Award

While ISSWSH has had a Distinguished Service Award for a number of years for those who have served the society, it has lacked the means to recognize individuals who have contributed significantly to our knowledge of sexual function and/or the improvement of sexual health in women. This has led to the creation of the ISSWSH Lifetime Achievement Award to publicly recognize the ground-breaking work and research of valued ISSWSH members.

Recipients

2022
Barry R. Komisaruk, PhD

ISSWSH Humanitarian Service

The ISSWSH Humanitarian Award was inspired by the 2018 Nobel Peace Prize recipients, Dr. Denis Mukwege and Nadia Murad, and their efforts to bring awareness to and eliminate the use of sexual violence against women as a weapon of war. This is one of many issues that deeply affect women’s sexual health but is not often acknowledged in first world countries. For the recipients of this award, a $1,000 donation will be made in their name by ISSWSH to a charitable organization of their choice that supports and advocates for women's sexual health.
