Larkin.LDr. Larkin is a board-certified internist, practicing internal medicine and women’s health in Cincinnati since 1991. Born in Philadelphia and raised in Long Island, NY, Dr. Larkin graduated from Skidmore College (summa cum laude) in 1984, Yale University School of Medicine (cum laude, AOA) in 1988, and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Chicago in 1991. She became Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1991 (recertified in 2001 and 2011). Dr. Larkin started her professional career in Cincinnati in 1991 as faculty in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Cincinnati as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine. In 2002, Dr. Larkin left academics and opened her own independent internal medicine and women’s health practice, Lisa Larkin, MD, and Associates. Over the next ten years, she grew the business to become a multi-specialty women’s health-focused group practice. In 2012, Dr. Larkin acted on her vision and sold her practice to UC Health to design, develop, open and serve as Director of the UC Health Women’s Center, the region’s first comprehensive, primary care-directed, medical home for women. As of December 2015, the UC Health Women’s Center included the services of over 60 primary care and specialist physicians, and had an average monthly visit volume of 4000 patients. She is a tireless advocate for patient and physician education, especially in the field of women’s health, menopause and perimenopause. She has been a certified menopause clinician by NAMS since 2001, serves on the boards of both NAMS and ISSWH, provides consultation to numerous pharmaceutical and medical device organizations including the US FDA, and has provided countless hours of teaching and community lectures on women’s health related topics.
